About Me

I'm Deborah Coles, an ardent dog lover, and a professional dog trainer.

I started DCL Dogs in 2004, and have enjoyed working with many pet dog owners during that time. I am a full member of the UK Association of Pet Dog Trainers (no 01051). Full membership of the UK APDT requires successful completion of both written and practical assessment, on going study and a commitment to use kind, fair and effective dog training methods.

I am registered as an Animal Training Instructor with the Animal Behaviour and Training Council, who set and maintain standards of knowledge and practical skills needed to be an animal trainer.

In 2011 I graduated from Bishop Burton college with a foundation degree in Canine Behaviour and Training. I regularly attend seminars and education days to keep up to date with new innovations in dog training and behaviour.

Over the years, I have been fortunate to share the lives of a variety of Labrador Retrievers. Each one has been an absolute pleasure to know and to spend time with. I am currently sharing my life with Ruby (Choccie) and Molly (Yellow), and regularly enjoy the additional company of family dogs, Henry (Ruby's brother) and Milo the French Bulldog.
